Russia halts cooperation with NATO

over the latter support of Georgia. It is indeed curious that the US and EU remained unconcerned with Georgia’s indiscriminate shelling of civilians in Osetia and its desire to subdue Osetia despite the wishes of all Osetians. Such attitude to Christian Georgia differs markedly from the Western attitude toward Israel: everyone is concerned over slightest civilian losses in Gaza and wants Israel to abandon her core territory of Judea.
It is unclear yet whether Russian non-cooperation would extend to covert Russian-American programs of destroying Russian weapons-grade uranium and chemical weapons.
The non-cooperation suggests that Russian troops won’t leave Georgia and Russia seeks to neutralize th expected friendly pressure from NATO. It seems that small detachments of Russian troops would stay at strategic key points in Georgia past the Friday’s announced departure date.
Russian confrontation with NATO is very welcome to Israel. Though Russia might supply S-300 to Iran and Syria in order to irritate Americans, the US-Russia’s rift would regain for Israel the position of America’s important ally against Russian expansion.
