The former defense minister announced his plans to visit the families of Tanzim victims and ask them to request Israeli government to free the arch-terrorist, Tanzim leader Marwan Barghouti. Mubarak once remarked that Arafat “has some very terrible people around him, such as Barghouti.”
Peretz wants Barghouti’s release because “he is respected by Palestinians.” Hamas leader Mashaal, too, is respected.
Peretz understands that he has zero say in releasing Barghouti and only makes the fuss to get some Arab votes in the next primaries.
