After Rabin abd Barak, yet another “Mr. Security” scored well in elections on the votes of Arab enemies. Earlier polls predicted 10% lead for Livni, but most Arab respondents refused to reveal their position. It now appears that most of those Arabs voted for ex-Chief of Staff Mofaz. That is only natural: many Israeli Arabs want a strong Israeli leader who can curb terrorism and Palestinian aspirations. They don’t want to be stuck in Israel when their Arab brothers would be shelling a nine-mile-wide state.
