Mabhouh assassination is not a Mossad affair?

Though nearly every Israeli minister had hinted by now that Mabhouh was assassinated by Mossad, Dubai police claim that six out of the assassination team’s eleven members had British passports. Mossad does not normally use British passports: though relations with MI6 are very strong, the British government insists on staying clear of the operations.

Jordan has extradited two Palestinian suspects to Dubai. Though both Israel and Fatah have strained relations with Jordan, the petty kingdom’s audacity is unusual.

If Mossad is behind the assassination, then it is very strange that the US administration did not push Dubai to quash the investigation and Jordan to refrain from extradition.

Dubai is very nervous about assassinations in its territory, and it would be rather odd for Mossad to conduct an operation there.

Any criminal investigation should begin with, “who benefits?”

Ostensibly Israel but look at what Sky News had to say about head of Mossad Dagan. Apparently he has been extremely successful preventing progress of Iranian Nuke project.

Who new this Hamas arms dealer would be in Dubai, the people he worked opposite Hamas and the Iranians.

Who else had a motive to kill him? Fatah. Any victory for Hamas weakens Fatah hold in the Palestinian Territories. Iran too. Why? Because the subsequent anger from UK and Europe over the fact that Israel is suspected of the operation and use of British/ Irish/ French / German passposts has created serious tension between Israel and their allies when they were discussing sanctions against Iran over their Nuclear program. An added benefit is that their are already calls for Mossad head Dagan to quit. This would remove Iran’s fiercest covert opponent.

Meanwhile 3 unnamed Palestinians are in custody, 2 deported from Jordan to Dubai and the third in Syria.

SO think again, who really is benefiting from all this? When was the last time you heard discussions about the sanctions? Were inspectors even present this week to view first stage enrichment at Iran’s nuclear sites?

Finally, this was more like a movie view of how Mossad operates a la Spielberg’s Munich than reality. The consequences of endangering Israel’s relations abroad and the blatant use of several Israeli citizens identities flies in the face of reason. Would the Israeli government allow such cynical abuse of its own citizens? Probalby not. This leaves us with one clear suspect: Iran.
