The friendly US Administration refused Israeli request for integrating her missile warning system with the American satellite-based one. but after the years of diplomatic battles - and months of very intensive battles - agreed to deploy the US warning stations in the Negev. Those stations will be manned by American personnel.
The new facilities would increase the warning range from the current 500 to 1,200 miles, and allow Israel enough time to react to Iranian missile launches. The deployment is scheduled for early 2009 but would be delayed as usual.
The project’s purpose is unclear. It can be both a way of comforting Israel into living with nuclear Iran, and the means to counter the Iran’s retaliatory strike after Israeli attack on its nuclear facilities.

Obama reiterated his fake position that Jerusalem must remain a Jewish capital. That statement doesn’t exclude the city also becoming a Palestinian capital - and Obama, the Black demagogue of Muslim origin, commanded Jews to discuss Jerusalem status with Palestinians.
Obama visited Sderot, where he revealed to the assembled Jews that the child Twito, wounded in a Kassam attack, represents the courage of Jews. That should be taken as Obama’s voice against Israel courageously attacking her Muslim terrorist enemies making thousands of Gazans courageous but disabled victims of Jews.
Obama welcomed Netanyahu’s economic incentives for Palestinians. Sort of the Jews helping the Weimar Republic to cut down inflation.

On other hand, Fatah cutthroats loudly complain that Bush and Rice refused to discuss with Abbas any details of the peace settlement with Israel. Add the Israeli leftists’ screams in favor of releasing Marwan Barghouti. It seems that Abu Mazen is almost out, and the US Administration refuses to seriously bug Israeli government. Why?
With the war in Iraq dragging on, the Republicans have two best foreign policy options to influence the upcoming presidential elections. One, Israeli-Palestinians peace or at least some kind of a firm agreement. Rice initially pushed for it, but now seemingly abandoned the endeavor as unrealistic. Two, successful strike on the Iranian nuclear facilities shortly before the elections in the expectation that American voters won’t change the ruling party during a crisis.
With that in mind, Bush Administration made the successful attack on Syria public, and gives more of a free hand to Olmert’s government. London Sunday Times, a semi-official mouthpiece of Israeli security establishment, announced the upcoming Mossad briefing on the highly advanced stage of Iranian nuclear program. The newspaper says it’s similar to Syrian, which of course it is, as Syria had almost completed reactor, and Iran too has a completed reactor in Bushehr.
A successful attack on Iran, however, would be a major setback to Israeli “peace camp” as the country will ecstatically move to the right for some time. Thus the newest police investigation against Olmert so that he can step down and Ehud Barak take laurels for the attack.
