When the US Administration tried to counter the Russian expansion with pushing of admittance of Georgia and Ukraine into NATO, Russia threatened S-300 SAM supplies to Iran.
For NATO to accept Georgia means either losing its credibility or going for an all-out war with Russia over some Osetia which few people can locate on a map.

It is indeed curious that the US and EU remained unconcerned with Georgia’s indiscriminate shelling of civilians in Osetia and its desire to subdue Osetia despite the wishes of all Osetians. Such attitude to Christian Georgia differs markedly from the Western attitude toward Israel: everyone is concerned over slightest civilian losses in Gaza and wants Israel to abandon her core territory of Judea.
It is unclear yet whether Russian non-cooperation would extend to covert Russian-American programs of destroying Russian weapons-grade uranium and chemical weapons.
The non-cooperation suggests that Russian troops won’t leave Georgia and Russia seeks to neutralize th expected friendly pressure from NATO. It seems that small detachments of Russian troops would stay at strategic key points in Georgia past the Friday’s announced departure date.
Russian confrontation with NATO is very welcome to Israel. Though Russia might supply S-300 to Iran and Syria in order to irritate Americans, the US-Russia’s rift would regain for Israel the position of America’s important ally against Russian expansion.

215 Georgians, 64 Russian soldiers, and 133 Ossetians - most of them, presumably, from the Russian-armed militia. The relatively heavy Russian losses are surprising; Israeli-trained Georgians fared not that bad against the prevailing Russian forces.
The hypocrisy around the Russian-Georgian conflict is staggering. For years, Russia subverted Georgian rule in Ossetia and Abkhazia by freely issuing Russian passports to locals. Evidently prompted by Russia, Ossetians started the current round by attacks on Georgians. Russian police operates in Georgia border regions.
America accepted Russia’s mild violations of Georgia’s jurisdiction, though Georgia is a staunch US ally even in Iraq. The US Administration de facto accepted Ossetia and Abkhazia ceding from Georgia, though not Chechnya from Russia, even though the cases are similar: in all those regions, locals overwhelmingly demand cessation.
Syrian dictator Assad was right when he quipped that there is no international justice and Russia behaved with Georgia as a great power should do.

The Cabinet discussed today this outrageous question. Russia supplies highly advanced weapons to Syria and Iran which target Israel, but Israeli government is concerned about Russian reaction to meager supply of Jewish weapons to Georgia.
Under the pressure from Livni, Israel earlier this year refused most of Georgia’s requests for weapons, and other suppliers have since stepped in. The politically correct morons from the establishment make Israel lose export markets. The restrictions especially affected Elbit company which produces high-end electronics and intelligence systems. In the previous case of dumping Elbit’s legitimate business, Israeli government barred the company from leasing an intelligence satellite to Venezuela; the ban led to Morris Talansky’s (a shareholder) lawsuit.
Israel should take this perfect chance for a peripheral war with Russia. For decades, Russians armed Israel’s enemies and now there is a chance to retaliate. Russia will supply arms to Syria and Iran no matter what Israel does, perhaps as slightly scaled-down systems or through the third countries. Israel cannot stop Russian arms sales by whining and crying injustice. The only approach which Russians recognize is force.
Israel, therefore, must now supply Georgia with anti-aircraft and anti-tank missiles to humiliate Russian army. Such sales would answer to the international understanding of justice, as both the US and NATO have condemned Russian attacks on Georgia. Modern Israeli weapons would definitely defeat the outdated Russian army which lacks trained pilots and tank drivers, in fact none of them conforms to the Israeli or American standards for the lack of training. The triumph of Israeli weapons against Russia would increase Israeli prestige and arms exports.
Russia greatly abets Israel’s enemies.Whether or not it has sold S-300 to Iran, it definitely sold TOR-1M anti-aircraft batteries whose only purpose is shooting down Israeli planes. Russia builds nuclear reactors for Iran and supplies it with enriched uranium, besides hard diplomatic support for Iran’s nuclear enrichment. The only way for Israel to stop Russia’s indirect attacks on the Jewish state is to help Russia’s opponents in many peripheral conflicts initiated by Putin’s regime.

According to the official version, the drug addict demanded money and jewelery from Mrs. Anetdinova, and murdered her when she refused. That story is nonsense. Drug addicts rarely kill in Russia, as their treatment in jail is horrendous; they specialize in petty theft but not murder. It is extremely unlikely that Mrs. Anetdinova would have fought an armed male at night rather than surrender her valuables. It is extremely uncommon for drug addicts to murder their screaming victims. Another official version is equally implausible: that the drug addict came from behind and immediately stubbed Mrs. Anetdinova in carotid artery. He is a trained assassin capable of professional strike, not off-the-mill drug addict.
It is clear why Russian authorities don’t want to announce another antisemitic murder. Israeli authorities, too, don’t want to link an insufficiently considered assassination of Koptsov with the retaliatory stubbing.

Who is that force, we can guess easily. Putin exercises unimpeded control over both FSB and oligarchs, and so the force can be only external: the US Administration. Months before the Russian elections, Condi Rice boosted Putin’s stance among Russians with otherwise silly micro-installation of anti-ballistic missiles in Poland and Czech. Useless in strategic terms, the ABM allowed Putin to take anti-American stance so popular with Russian voters. Putin started his term with Chechen war, and fittingly ended it with ABM crisis.
Only the US Administration can guarantee Putin safety of the tens of billions of dollars he holds in his foreign bank accounts and shares.
