The Palestinian Ministry of Prisoner Affairs confirmed a long-known fact: the PA pays pensions to terrorists jailed in Israel. Thousands of murderers and would-be murderers receive substantial amounts of money while in jail and for years after being released. The PA pays these pensions to both Fatah and Hamas terrorists.

Under the Oslo Accords, the PLO agreed to combat terrorism, though pensions would seem to encourage it. The worst part is that the pensions are ultimately financed by Israeli tax transfers and US aid to the PA.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the number of illegal weapons possessed by Israelis has decreased from 73,000 to 9,000 in the last decade. Which is utter nonsense. Just about every family in every Arab village owns a firearm or a few, almost all of them illegally.

The report ignores the hundreds of thousands of illegal firearms owned by West Bank Arabs.

The police gleefully reported a 35% decrease in legally owned firearms. This decline is entirely attributable to the wholesale disarming of the settlers. The police leave entire outposts without a single weapon, and many settlers have to travel unarmed through areas with a heavy Palestinian presence. Unsurprisingly, the number of stoning attacks has skyrocketed.

UNRWA: We’re losing the next generation

John Ging, the top UNRWA rep in Gaza, voiced this sensible opinion: poverty, border closures, and the recent Gaza operation have greatly radicalized Gaza’s youth, who make up two-thirds of its population. To expect them to live in peace with Israel is unrealistic.

What the UNRWA fellow does not understand is that a similar hatred has brewed on the other side of the border. Children in Sderot grew up without seeing peaceful life: for eight years, Palestinians shelled them and attacked with rockets.

The funny part is that Hamas executed Haidar Ghanem on a Fatah court’s order for collaboration with Israel.
