One can only imagine the world media outcry if the Jews had contemplated kidnapping a Palestinian. Indeed, we witness such outcries in response to Jews merely painting graffiti on Arab structures.

That means that the PA takes official responsibility for the terrorists. Indeed, this responsibility is no secret, as the PA even maintains a Ministry of Prisoner Affairs, funded with US aid and Israeli tax transfers.

It is a specifically Jewish craze to finance a government that takes pride in sending terrorists to kill us.

Prosecutors did not charge them with terrorism, though they admitted to shouting anti-Jewish slogans and praising rocket fire from Gaza during the murder. The latter fact in particular makes it a political crime rather than a racially motivated murder.

Because the Arab are minors, they will receive moderate sentences (probably four to six years), and be released after serving two-thirds of their time. Being minors, their identities are protected, and the Jews among whom they live will never know that those nice Arabs are murderers.

The move is especially dangerous because there was no closure on Purim either, so the terrorists have had ample time to prepare. The move is also unwarranted—if the Palestinians want independence, we have every right to seal off their territory.

Palestinian terrorists traditionally seek to perpetrate large-scale terrorist attacks during Jewish holidays.

Now a small scandal has erupted: from his jail cell, Barghouti has called on Abbas to cease all dealings with Jews and resort to large-scale resistance. Presumably those are his true views, and he would waste no time acting on them if released.

Nevertheless, Barghouti still enjoys all the perks of Israeli prison, including TV, cell phone, and access to journalists—all of which are denied to Yigal Amir.

Today, a Palestinian terrorist stabbed a Jewish girl on the train before jumping off at Pisgat Zeev. He was caught in the nick of time, just as he was about to escape to PA territory. He will be released soon because the girl did not die.

Meanwhile, police admitted the obvious about the recent murder in Ramle: the Arabs’ shooting of a Jewish passerby was an act of terror rather than criminal act.

In order to sustain the peace process, police are saying that this was not terrorism. But the test is simple: the Arab wouldn’t have dared to run over a Fatah policeman; thus he attempted to kill a Jew.

There is really nothing to investigate, as the PA speaks openly about the financing. Indeed, it would make no difference if Fatah were paying for the homes with its own money while covering the gaps in other expenses with US aid. That trick, by the way, has for three decades allowed Egypt to use American aid to build up its army while nominally using the money for peaceful purposes.

Does the PA promote terrorism by subsidizing these houses? Yes, but not to the extent that Israel promotes the same by releasing terrorists.

So long as Israel finances the Fatah and Hamas governments in the West Bank and Gaza, there is little moral merit in blaming the United States for feeding the monster in our backyard.
