The British Ambassador to Lebanon praised him even more profusely, but he remains at his job.

By allowing a ship under its flag to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza, France is joining a war on the side of Hamas.

The Israeli government rushed to remove the blockade.

Now, a few things beg explanation.

Mossad was supposed to stop the practice of procuring real passports. The agency makes excellent forged passports, which obviates any practical need to obtain real ones, certainly not for operations in Asia.

Germany was not supposed to prosecute Israelis over the passport operations. On previous occasions, the Germany security service has stopped civil prosecutors from expressing interest in Mossad operations. Though we would normally expect the agent to be released soon, Germany had acted rather unfriendly in this case.

Mossad’s man was not supposed to travel in Europe under the same name the international warrant was issued for. The list of outstanding international arrest warrants is freely available to Israeli authorities, who would have needed to do nothing more than change the agent’s passport.

Sounds good, until we recall how those same monitors fled Gaza after the Hamas takeover, and how useless the UNIFIL proved in Lebanon.

To sweeten the pill, the program calls for a “secure and universally recognized Israel,” though Iran, Syria, and Hezbollah-dominated Lebanon cannot be expected to recognize the Jewish state anytime soon.

It is a pleasure to see the UK, which so recently fought in Belize and the Falklands over its imperial ambitions, so concerned about the human rights of Arabs.

So far, Greek debts remain small by the standards of developed economies, and easily manageable. Eventually, quasi-socialist European policies will lead to economic collapse.

Greece is a special place for Europeans, with many parallels to Israel. The modern Greek state was established by outside powers. These powers fought the Turks on behalf of the residents of Greece, who were declared the descendants of the ancient Greeks. The Greeks were allowed to expel their Muslim minority (‘Turks) and raze their mosques or convert them into churches. In Greece, church is not separated from state.

Sarkozy wants a similar measure in France.

Such an attack on human rights is unlikely to withstand a judicial challenge, although it is not easy to see why covering oneself fully is any more protected than public nudity or wearing only G-strings in downtown.

When the US Supreme Court struck down criminal punishment for burning American flags during the Vietnam era, some states relegated the matter to public vigilance: they established a fine of $25 as the only criminal punishment for people who beat those who burned the flag.

Turkish PM Erekat, a personal friend of Olmert, complained that Israel flaunts Obama’s peace efforts. Yeah, bad Jews don’t want to be trapped in the “Auschwitz borders.”

IDF Chief of Staff Ashkenazi described the Gaza clashes that left two Jewish soldiers dead as “the high price of Israeli freedom.” Nonsense. The soldiers died not for freedom, but because the Israeli government lacks any strategic vision about Gaza and IDF made the tactical error of sending infantry instead of helicopters into the fighting.

We’re all for suppressing Muslim freedom of expression, especially on military matters, but what about praising Jewish terrorists: Shlomo ben Yosef, Avraham Stern, Yitzhak Shamir, and Menahem Begin, to name a few?

The expulsion is judicially unwarranted: there was no trial and the Brits were unable to assemble any evidence confirming Israeli involvement. The expulsion therefore effectively names Mossad’s chief as a criminal responsible for passport forgery and subject to arrest.

Let’s see if Israel would have the guts to expel a British Embassy official in retaliation, which is standard diplomatic procedure for self-respecting states.

Having cleansed their continent of Jews, the Europeans are now helping the Middle East to follow suit. This is not a joke. Jews thought that the world would satisfy itself by massacring Jews in Europe. No, the solution they mean for us is really final.

The parliament was sharply divided between right and left. Practically all the conservatives opposed the resolution. Regrettably, the Israeli government cannot bring itself to establish special relations with European ultra-right groups, preferring to rely instead on the traditional leftist partners who have now embraced the Palestinian side.

Since neither the liquidation of Mabhouh nor the forgery of  passports is considered illegal in Israel, Britain has no right to conduct criminal investigation here even with the approval of subservient Israeli authorities.

We would like to see the British reaction if Israeli police were to arrive in London to interview the many British citizens who happen to be active Hezbollah members.

The EU’s free trade agreement with Israel covers only territory which Israel has declared its own. No problem arises with produce from the Golan Heights  because Israel has annexed that land.

One would think that Israel-Palestinian issues have nothing to do with the EU, which in its cultural isolation had refused to admit Turkey. But the parliament’s president said openly that the debate signals the EU’s growing interest in the Middle East.

And Israel is a pawn in European neo-colonialist expansion. Never mind the hypocrisy of ever-warring European nations judging Jews for an insignificant military operation.

The Falklands debacle has not imparted to the British government the good sense to stop calling Judea and Samaria ‘occupied’ territories.

He unequivocally supported the Israeli war in Gaza, told Abbas to resume the fruitless peace talks with no preconditions, and remarked to journalists that he did not notice the separation wall, a symbol of the Israeli ‘occupation.’

The LNG projects are a snub to Obama, who wants them covered by sanctions.

In practical terms, British actions may be commendable and might even set Muslim terrorists against the UK. On the other hand, the ban is a clear violation of free speech rights, and it establishes a dangerous precedent.

Why doesn’t Israel start prosecuting visiting British officials on equally spurious charges of association with terrorist organizations and racial incitement against Jews?
