Islamist riots in TunisiaTunisian government forces arrested hundreds of protesters who poured into the streets after a former interior minister promised a putsch if Ennahda radicals win the upcoming elections.

The ‘Arab Spring’ revolts promoted by the Obama administration are bringing Islamists to power.

Twenty-nine Democrats signed a letter to Obama urging him to stop US aid to Palestine if Hamas joins the government. Theoretically, the measure can pass the Senate easily since Republicans approve of sanctions.

In practice, this is nonsense. Hamas’ people in the PA government will be technically independents. Indeed, the Fatah-Hamas agreement provides for such a ‘government of technocrats,’ a transparent way for Hamas’ membership to evade sanctions.

On the other hand, why should the Americans be more supportive of Israel than our own government, which has more or less accepted the Fatah-Hamas pact?

Trade unions are lobbying to raise the minimum wage to $1,200 per month. Minimum wage is a tax paid by consumers through the increase in the prices of basic products and services.

Even more importantly, the minimum wage disproportionately benefits Arabs—who work in primitive occupations—and well-paid trade-union members whose salaries are pegged to the minimum wage. Lobbying for minimum-wage hikes, trade unions thus do not care about the Jewish poor, but only about their own members.
