According to the Wall Street Journal, the Obama administration is negotiateing an agreement with Egypt which would turn the Middle East into a nuclear-free zone.

Obama’s arrogance is staggering. Who is he to tell Israel which weapons we should defend ourselves with? Remember that in 1948, 1956, 1967, and in the early days of the 1973 war, the US did not rush to support us; Israel has to depend on her own power.

For years, we’ve been advocating a nuclear-free Middle East: Israel can dismantle the Dimona facilities while hiding enough nuclear arsenals. When our bombs begin to expire after two decades, we can quietly rebuild the reactor.

Today, however, such an agreement might not be viable; Iran could sign it and stop one step short of producing the bomb, but keep its ‘peaceful’ enrichment program intact. At any moment, it would be able to weaponize the enriched stocks. Iran, Syria, and Saudi Arabia will continue their attempts to import nukes, respectively, from North Korea and Pakistan.

A nuclear-free Middle East agreement would be no more enforceable than the currently available non-proliferation treaty.

Speaking to AJC, Hillary Clinton called the Iranian nuclear program and Syrian missile deliveries to Hezbollah “real threats to Israel’s security.”

Her administration warned Iran and Syria that America’s commitment to Israeli security is “unshakeable.” (Like it was in 1948 or 1967?)

Nevertheless, the White House prevents Israel from acting on those threats.

Ahmadinejad is scheduled to speak at the UN’s upcoming nuclear non-proliferation conference. Joined by Arab ambassadors, he will turn up the heat under Israel for her covert nuclear activities. Unwilling to confront Iran—which may go nuclear in a few weeks—Arab regimes will join it against Israel.

The same world which goes berserk every time Israel bombs a terrorist nest inside a mosque paid no attention to today’s bombing in Somalia.

A double blast in a Mogadishu mosque targeted the leader of the Shabab rebel group. The blasts claimed some 30 dead and 70 wounded.

Somalia’s government blamed the attack on Muslim radicals, but they have no reason to feud with Shabab, which also employs Muslim rhetoric. The blasts benefit the CIA-supported government which fights the Shabab insurgency.

Iran has won a seat on the UN’s women’s rights committee.

For decades, Muslims have used the committee to attack Israel to divert from the blame from themselves. According to Muslim logic, Jews discriminate against women because Palestinian females undergo security checks upon entering Israel. The verbal assault on Israel will intensify with the ayatollahs’ appointment to the committee.
