Anat Kam’s lawyer announced that he is in talks with Shabak about a plea bargain, which we expect would allow his client to evade a jail sentence in return for merely returning the stolen documents—never mind the copies taken.

A pickpocket would be refused a plea bargain that allowed him to return the last stolen purse in return for immunity, but rules are different for leftist traitors.

Compounding the shame, Shabak complains that it does not know the whereabouts of the stolen documents. What? Go search the homes of the reporter Blau, his relatives, and Haaretz’s senior staff, as Shabk would have done in any regular case.

Instead of public figures asking Blau to return to stolen top-secret documents, the fellow should have been indicted immediately and his extradition sought from Great Britain. But the security establishment is afraid of leftist media.

The Foundation for the Benefit of Holocaust Victims in Israel sought to pity the public with twisted statistics. According to the report, which was issued on Holocaust Remembrance Day, 88% of survivors suffer from chronic illnesses. No wonder: these are people in their late 80s and older. No amount of welfare funding would change that situation.

The report also claims there are 207,000 Holocaust survivors in Israel. After the Holocaust, only 600,000 Jews were numbered among the displaced persons, but over the subsequent decades the number of survivors mushroomed.

Obama has announced amendments to the American nuclear doctrine: the US will never employ nuclear weapons against a state which does not have them. This is a bad example because the mammoth US Army can conduct a conventional war for years, while small Israel has to rely on nuclear weapons to compensate for her lack of resources for prolonged conventional war.

Nuclear weapons are the only way to deal with WMD labs hidden deep in mountains. Bunker-buster bombs can only break a few meters of concrete. Iran has already built several facilities so deep underground that they can be only destroyed with nukes.

As long as America professes its silly self-restraint against using nuclear weapons, WMD proliferators are safe.

Israel’s High Court issued an unusually sensible ruling, denying a petition to move the security barrier near the Arab village of Mascha. The court agreed with the Arabs that the barrier harms them, but noted that it cannot be moved away feasibly.
