Speaking in Moscow, Lieberman announced that Israel has no intention to bomb Iran and can protect itself. The idea that he would surrender the military option is too stupid to be true. Had Netanyahu’s government accepted nuclear Iran, it would have at least asked for major concessions from Obama.
Lieberman imagines the world will act against Iran if Israel refuses to pull chestnuts from the fire for them. In particular, Israel is trying to pressure Egypt into joining her strike against Iran.
Since Russia suspended S-300 ABM sales to Iran, it leaves the door open to Israeli strike on Iran. Russia has no influence with Iran to force it to stop its nuclear program, but does not want nuclear Iran because it would gain too much power in the Russian sphere of influence in Central Asia.
