Israel offended Georgia over dirty money

The Israeli government has asked Georgia to postpone a visit by Georgia’s parliament speaker due to a quarrel about corruption. Georgia charged two Israeli businessmen with bribing its finance minister, and the well-connected businessmen arranged for the government to intercede for them. Georgia, however, went ahead and pressed charges anyway.

Although corruption is widespread in Georgia and the businessmen committed no moral offense, it is wrong for Israel to spoil relations with one of her few friends over a trivial issue.
