The government will pay $300,000 each to the families of thirteen Arabs killed in the riots nine years ago. One of the Arabs was not even an Israeli resident, but came from Gaza.
In 2000, Israeli police courageously and professionally stopped Arab pogrom mobs. Only about a dozen Arabs were killed in the process, and Arab MKs since then have not stopped demanding that the policemen be prosecuted.
The state, essentially, admitted wrongful deaths.
