The court struck down a law which allowed security services to request remand of security prisoners without them being present at the court hearing.
The law’s logic was straightforward: a terrorist who receives a public attorney and attends a proper hearing is much less likely to succumb to his interrogators. It is very important, especially in the first days of detention, to frighten the terrorist to obtain the maximum possible amount of information in him.
The High Court treats terrorists like common criminals.
