Elections to the Shura Council almost entirely replaced the older and relatively moderate Hamas officials with younger generation of extreme militants, reports Jerusalem Post.
Shura Council is modeled on Iran’s Council of Elders which allows ayatollahs to control the parliament. It is not the Hamas’ highest body, but the most authoritative and secretive. Shura Council includes Hamas members in exile.
Hamas membership in Gaza is about 20,000 gangsters who mostly support highly aggressive course against Israel as propounded by Izz ad-Din Kassam Brigades.
As the ceasefire continues, Hamas brings massive amounts of weapons into Gaza, including anti-tank, anti-aircraft, and longer-range rockets.
