Under pressure from Obama, Israel and the PA will re-launch peace talks “without preconditions.” Previously, Abbas insisted on using Olmert’s concessions—which included the Temple Mount—as a starting point for negotiations with Israel’s new government. Negotiations begun from a blank slate will take forever.
It remains to see whether both sides will adhere to their understanding of the agreement once they return to the Middle East.
