It is a common situation when Arabs disregard Jewish property rights in East Jerusalem. Before 1948, Jews owned many houses there, but Jordan gave them over to Arabs

Jews built nine houses on their own land. Peace Now claimed it was on “Palestinian” land. No “Palestinians” were ever named as the owners. The Jews tried to come to a compromise with the courts and the government, and agreed to voluntarily seal the houses for the time being, and not move into them. The government and court agreed except for then-Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Olmert ordered the forcible demolition of the nine homes. The results can be seen on video all over the internet.
This article is even more disturbing because with Amona the court ruled against the Jews. In this case, the court ruled that there existed very clear proof of Jewish ownership. Then when the Jews (with police escorts) try to enforce this order, they are attacked. The police then investigate the Jews for opening fire.
