Israeli officials were happy to see Yukiya Amano named head of the IAEA. Clearly, a Japanese is preferable to a Muslim candidate.
In his first interview, Amano announced that the IAEA has no documentary evidence that Iran is seeking nuclear weapons.
Indeed, why would Iran submit such incriminating documents to the watchdog?
Meanwhile, Obama reportedly opposes G-8 sanctions against Tehran so as not to disrupt the non-existent dialogue with Ahmadinejad.
