This writer is a subversive Jew, akin to the Peace Now Jews who wish to dismember and destroy the Jewish nation. In one sentence this sly bastard wants to compare the Palestinian "sufferers" to our heroic Jewish people, like Hannah and her 7 sons. As if all that we did for the so-called Palestinians was nothing but bad, this after they're given autonomy, land, water, electricity, health are, free education, free higher education, maternity care, money, police equipment, rifles, etc. All this while THEIR brethren spit on them and would never absorb them.

But this worthless, sarcastic author is not satisfied. Why? Because his people are still surviving and learning Torah and still the greatest people in the world. He hates that - beause he hates G-d.

May G-d have mercy on him.

Don't ever worry about that.
You can always rely on the Pali's stupidity to miss any & all opportunities.

Danny, you had made a comment that everyone knows the borders already. Do you know if specifically Har Homa will be on the chopping block. Since the US and the 'pali's' are pushing for 67 lines, Har Homa, Gilo, French Hill etc would be gone. Bibi appears to not be trustworthy, and I believe you had mentioned that he's trying to save face in keeping those area's. To me there is no guarantee that those area's will be safe, even more so according to the Tanach. Shabbat Shalom

Fractiousness can be an advantage, a huge one. Someone's always coming up with bad ideas, but not everyone follows them. Someone's always got good ideas and can express them. Old ideas survive. New ones, if they lead to bad results, can wither. Forcing everyone into line is nigh impossible. There is always a dissident even against what appears the logical, inevitable order.

This is not to say one should not discern, or believe. It is terrible that Jews are actively supporting the territorial destruction of Israel via suicidal compromises, in the name of false ideologies, or incorrect application of useful ones.

If Israel were a nation of slavish rule-followers one doubts whether she would have made it this far.

Honor Hannah and her sons and give tzedakah.

Specifically to the Efrat organization to save Jewish children in Israel from the insidious act of Abortion:

The Hellenistic act of Abortion snuffs out more Jewish souls in Israel than all the Arab terrorism.

"Now implore God to be gracious to us! But with such offerings from your hands, will He accept you? Oh, that one of you would shut the temple doors, so that you would not light useless fires on my altar! I am not pleased with you and I will accept no offering from your hands. But from the rising to the setting of the sun, in every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to My name, because My name will be great among the nations," says YHVH Tzevah-ote!" Malachi 1:9-11

"At that time there appeared in Israel a group of renegade Jews who incited the people. 'Let us enter into a covenant with the nations round about,' they said, "because disaster has overtaken us since we segregated ourselves from them.' The people thought this a good argument, and some of them in their enthusiasm...intermarried with the nations, and abandoned themselves to evil ways." 1 Maccabees 1:11,12,15

Today a person of Mattathias or Judah Maccabee's character, courage, and integrity is not to be found. Things really have not changed much in the last 2200 years or so. Human nature is still badly in need of redemption. That is one of the themes of Hanukah and lest we forget and despair, I find it better to focus on the hope found in re-dedicating myself to YHVH and to each other by resolving to walk in His Light. Those, I believe, are even more prominent focal points of this season we can all take heart in.

To me it speaks of repentance from sin and the need for cleansing from all unrighteousness (Psalms 139:23-24). As much as in me is, it also speaks of being reconciled to my Jewish brethren. As if I was there under Antiochus Epiphanes' command, ransacking the Beit HaMeekdahsh and demanding that His people deny their faith and Elohim.

The Light of Hanukah can dispel darkness if we are willing. The fact remains that apart from Judaism's triumph over evil and sin, Christianity would lie still-birthed, never even making it to a manger. There would have been no historical context for the Messiah to happen. The tribe of Judah would have assimilated and like Israel five centuries before, it would have effectively ceased to have existed as a distinct people inextricably tied to the God of the Bible.

Most Christians are unaware that the story of Hanukah actually was repeated after Christ. The only reason there is the resurrected nation of Israel today, is because Judaism rejected Christianity. We as Christians played the role of the Seleucid occupation for two millenium. The Jewish people righteously rejected our "testimony" of their Messiah. They were looking for Him in their anguish, but found Him not in our persecution.

A smart man once said "things change".
Soon the usual boring ritual about the Silvester will start in Israel. People will go have fun, some idiot will invariably say "Silvester was an antisemitic catholic. Stop celebrating it.", and all will be well until next year.

So in a way, hannukah can be just like that small piece of rewritten history. What it means to Jews now can be different that what it meant to Judaeans 2000 years ago.
It can still be a message of joy and unity to Jewish families - everywhere.
Not just the people who would have taken arms against the Hellenists.

THIS IS Obana´s CHANNUKAH GIFT TO ISRAEL: The freeze comes early this winter. Not in the form of snow, or other meteorlogic manner, but from the West, in the form of pressure form the United States and it´s new president Mr. Hussein Obama. So, a few questions arise, such as, is Mr. Obama acting in Israel´s best interest? Should Israel freeze all construction in Yesha? And, is there a benifit to doing so (in other words will it bring peace to the country? No.

To the Madhatter: Wow, if you're Jewish, you are woefully ignorant of your own religion. Hanukah has NOTHING to do with Bar Kochva or his revolt which took place almost 300 years after the events that Hanuka actually commemorates, which have to do with the Hashmonaim and their revolt against Syrian-Greek oppression and their rededication of the Temple. Please go learn something before you speak ignorant jibberish. You really have a lot to learn.
