??”?
As far as being jewish. One who’s mother is Jewish, or had a Halachic Convesion is Jewish. The Torah Defines Jewish Identity with out this they have nothing truly Jewish to hold on to. They will become as a Rightious gentile, Not Have the unique Holiness of the Shabot. And their latter generations will have no reason not to intermarry and that will be their end Go-d Forbid. and A convesion to become “a good person” doesn’t do it. Or some reconstructionist “new age” convession. Jewish values are given in the Torah, defined in the mishna, and explained in the Gemora. No one differed from this truth till in Germany before the Holacoast, and we all know the results of that. Reform Judiasm Started in Germany before the Holacoast 6 million were killed . The Go-d said “Dont add or detract from this law. In such times the Angel of death does not (for the most part) choose between the reightioes and the wicked. So one must do what they can to stop such desicration and save themselves.
A Jew who Desecrates Shabot in public cannot be counted in a minion according to Halachah. This is becouse he by his brazen zeal against Go-d “cuts off” his ruach-Jewish emotional and Nashama soul of Divine perception. To such a one that which is correct is “strange” to him, and that which is strange they intuitively no longer find discusting. Instead the can no longer hear the words of the Torah in their heart. TheY are as blind when it comes to the truth as “something else” has influence over them. But they still are Jewish and can come back to correct awareness, with the help of the Go-d. Whether they live in Jerusalem or New York.
There is no New Jerusalem to be found in New York. Rabbi Avraham Abulafia says that according to one’s desire to Live in the Holy Land is their potential to become Holy and achieve Ruach haKodesh (Holy spirit). He says this is also dependent on the times. As now its very easy to Get To Isreal. So Holiness depends more on being Here now. Those who are Religious out side of the land, are not helping us much here. Becouse of their absence the influence of the “other side” is greater. If they lived here they could add their voices to the call for stability here and redemption from our problems.
“Observing” Torah out side the land is only as “practice” as Rashi said, in preparing one for doing Mitzvot in the land. Doing mitzvot outside the land is as being a fishing man. Having all the equipment, but never going to the water. He can practice. But he will never help the Go-d build the Temple in L.A., Its not going to Happen. They also shouldn’t think that they are going to eat the meal if they don’t do the work. In Gemora it says in the future only those invited will be able to come up to Jerusalem. They thought they could hang out in Germany and come up later, it didnt work that way.

The God is forever,
Not every one is destined to be a doctor, lawyer, accountant or a JEW. As the bible says "a nation of priests. Every organ in the body serves its function the heart is no greater than the kidney. In the Talmud the God teaches us that each nation has been given certian gifts that are unique. 613 ways of attachment of the love of God is too much for some a path in the permitted 7 laws of Noah does the job for their soul, by this they inherit the eternal nature of their soul called "the world to come"

Obadiah,

Everything that has a beginning has and end.
Jews (and other nations) have not been here forever, and will certainly end.
All religions have been invented at some point in time and will disappear, too.
Humanity has been around much longer that “Jews”, “English”, “Russians”, or “Chinese”. It has been around much longer than “Hindus”, “Jews”, “Buddhists” etc.
Humanity is much more important than any nation, religion, any tribe, or clan.
All of our groups are destined to disappear. However it makes a difference HOW we disappear. Every group has a gift to share with the rest of humanity. For example the Greenland Eskimos have lived in snow and ice for over 1000 years. Therefore they know something that nobody else knows. No other group has that experience. And this experience will never again be repeated, as today, Eskimos have snow mobiles, electric light, and central heating.
Jews have a heritage going back over 3000 years. They are link to the most ancient civilizations on this planet. They also have the unique experience of being a persecuted minority surviving near genocides, pogroms, and burning people alive. Jews survived and preserved their uniqueness, against almost impossible odds.
Perhaps Jews were in some ways on a higher level of development, and it was therefore impossible for them to go back. Just like most people would probably chose to die rather than go back to cannibalism.
It is important that we discover what is that true value, that great uniqueness in Jewish nation culture. This has to be discovered and shared, so that these true Jewish values, become human, not just Jewish. Just like geometry is now human, not just Greek.

Jewish is who your enemies, those people who are trying to kill Jews, say is Jewish.

If only not being Jewish was as simple as saying or deciding you weren't Jewish.

Hello,
Even if building the Temple is a nacionalism cause, in my opinion it shoudn't be seen has a diferénciacion among the jewish community; is a litle bit has Berlin wall in the cold war, did the wall made germans different from the both sides ?
I'm a friend of Israel, I'm a long descendend from sefardit jewish family, that makes me not a jewish but only a friend, building the Temple should be a work of realist art not a political cause these days, God will be allways protecting the jewish people as long as the far away diaspora will keep on beeing bigger and reformist.

Here lies the problem: the required observance is very different between the Reform and Orthodox, and the good works differ drastically between Gush Emunim and Shalom Achshav.

Rut said, "Don't entreat me to leave you, and to return from following after you, for where you go, I will go; and where you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your G-d my G-d; where you die, will I die, and there will I be buried: the L-RD do so to me, and more also, if anything but death part you and me."

Say it, follow it up by Torah observance, and all manner or good works.... What more can their be?

Your writings are really good more people need to see them.
                                      ??"?
As far as being jewish. One who's mother is Jewish, or had a Halachic Convesion is Jewish. The Torah Defines Jewish Identity with out this they have nothing truly Jewish to hold on to. Or some reconstructionist "new age" convession. Jewish values are given in the Torah, defined in the mishna, and explained in the Gemora. No one differed from this truth till in Germany before the Holacoast, and we all know the results of that. Reform Judiasm Started in Germany before the Holacoast 6 million were killed . So one must do what they can to stop such desicration and save themselves.
A Jew who Desecrates Shabot in public cannot be counted in a minion according to Halachah.
