For the record, the US voted in YES, while the United Kingdom ABSTAINED. There is a famous story about how Harry Truman’s former business partner, Eddie Jacobson, succeeded in reaching President Truman for the Zionist cause. Many of the YES votes in the UN were gathered through Truman’s calling in chips from the Marshall Plan.

Israel and Palestine both know that eventually there has to be a two state solution. For now they are both like a sick patient with a chronic illness who are avoiding a major surgery that also requires painful amputation. Both know what must be done.

BTW, if the perpetrators of the first Genocide of the 20th century were punished for their crimes there might have never been a Holocaust.

My opinion is simple. We received a plan, a law and from a good source. But the geniuses among us throw it. Then the same geniuses told us we better live outside Israel. Then again they told us we need to make peace, now give some land, tomorrow die and the day after tomorrow they will also tell us what to do or think. What about the original plan? What about the One that simply gave it to us?
I have to admit I have read some Kahane books and the guy was smart. But I’m not a Kahanist since he was a rabbi and half of their teachings are polluted with rabbinical text. Anyway, a simple idea from him is applicable to this article. They will give us the land, and we’ll guarantee peace..

“If Israel is capable of learning that no matter what she does she will be hated, then perhaps she will finally just get on with doing what needs to be done and to hell with world opinion. We just might find afterwords that we are not more hated for doing so, and in fact may earn a bit of respect.”

Those aware of history will know how true this article is. Still there is no excuse for those unaware of history to be ignorant of the present situation, unless they are dishonest. The voting record of the UN along with the never ending anti-Israel resolutions should be enough evidence. If not take a look at the media in any country to see how facts are distorted and lies from the Arabs are treated as truth. If this is not enough, check out the anti-Israel demonstrations throughout the West along with the tone of many letters to the editor and blog sites which discuss the situation. No other people and no other country is treated in such a blatant, biased way, or put another way hated simply for existing. If Israel is capable of learning that no matter what she does she will be hated, then perhaps she will finally just get on with doing what needs to be done and to hell with world opinion. We just might find afterwards that we are not more hated for doing so, and in fact may earn a bit of respect.

Danny, great article. Again to change the subject, are you aware of where I can locate sources of what the Baal Shem Tov say’s about the rabbanim delaying the geulah? If you know of any other source that I can study about this particular subject. I had a book about 7 years ago that dealt with this specifically, but cannot locate it or remember it’s title. Thanks
