Obadiah, I disagree with the general tone of this article, the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, which is represented at the UN and which encompasses all Moslem countries, including Russia which is an honorary member, makes a mockery of the claim that Moslems are not united in their goals. The terrorist goals that insurgents have, are rejected by most Moslems, THAT is why Osama is rejected by Moslems, not because they don't share his goal of a Caliphate.

You said

"Egyptians are not going to unite with Saudis who in turn detest Afghanis who detest Black Muslims."

THE OIC proves you wrong.

The Saudis don't hate blacks, and several top princes are black, the Bandar ambassador to the US for example, and the Egyptian Muslim brotherhood recetnly said they'd rather have a Pakistani rule over them as a Moslem than a Christian Copt from Egypt, the Copts have beens their thousands of years.

So, if it has nothing to do with the count given by the Torah, we celebrate anyway? That's nuts. We don't follow the dictates of the Torah then, just the rabbi's and the 4th century calendar. Oy va voy.

To be sure, we celebrate on 14 Nisan, so whatever day we call 14 Nisan is a day to celebrate.

Obadiah,

The Muslims are indeed at odds with each others and have been killing each others ever since Muhammad. However, there is such thing as the "Islamic Awakening". Today's Indonesia, is no longer the same as Indonesia of 35 years ago. Everywhere Islamic and antisemitic hysteria is stirred up, Islamists, including Osama Bin Laden are very popular.
Muslims may be divided among themselves, but they are unified in their hatred of Israel.

Obadiah,

Hamas is at leas as much Islamist as nationalist, just look at their charter of establishment:
Article One:
http://avalon.law.yale.edu/20th_century/hamas.asp
"The Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS): The Movement's programme is Islam. From it, it draws its ideas, ways of thinking and understanding of the universe, life and man. It resorts to it for judgement in all its conduct, and it is inspired by it for guidance of its steps."

In almost every sentence HAMAS makes it clear that Islam is the primary goal, Palestine, is only secondary.
