I think that the reality of the situation is simple. Israel not only hides behind the cloak of of innocence, its claims for peace are outrageous. You all talk about the attcks from palestine as terrorist. But the reality is straight forward. The western world has little or no respect to any state. It repeated invasions throughout histroy clearly shows this. If someone came into your house, and started kicking you out (exactly what happened to the jews in Germany) how would you feel? This is exactly what happened to palestine. Out of no where they found themseleves being attacked and removed from their land. Once Israel was in place. The suddenly began to expect their rights to be not attacked. But it does not work like that. When you FORCE someone to leave their life and family, and rip up their life like it means nothing, then you forfeit your rights. You await justice! The western world backs up Israel even though it knows it was wrong in creating such a state. Because it would never let down its pride and admit it is wrong. Just like we were wrong when we went to war with Iraq, just like we were wrong to go to war the Philippines.
It is horendous that in today's age things like this happen, even more so that people, who have salvaged a degree in history or whatever who cannot look beyond their prejudice, to see clearly the evils that exist in today world!
You see according to your policy, I could technically punch you in the face, and call for peace just before you hit me back, and if you hit me, you become a terrorist, which gives me the right to employ more than enough power to fight you back.
Any one defending Israel needs to be educated further, lose their bias or realise that they are immoral people.

Israel has a public relations deficit.... One facet of the public relations argument, that has been missing from Israel's side of the public relations conflict, was summed up very eloquently in one sentence I read today:
.

When you elect war, you get war.
.

So far Israel has been saying, stop the rockets and we'll stop the bombing. That seems to me to be only one part of the necessary equation. Western Europe's answer to that has been to point to the suffering of the population caused by the bombing (collateral damage. It hasn't been properly pointed out to the world that the population is culpable.

The above phrase, points out the responsibility of the civilian population for having elected a government who avowed to destroy Israel and is firing rockets at Israel . Now that Hamas government is doing exactly what the population elected them to do.

That's called representative government... and people deserve the government they elect.

To Mark. I dont know what planet you come from or village you are from in Anartica. Don't insult our intelligents. There are many problems in the middle east and the problems did not happen over night. Many people groups fighting for recognition. Dictators, religious pogroms, empires invading like Turks, Brits, etc... If this article sounds like Mein kamf I would think that the Jews would have already gased arabs like Saddam Hussein, rather then creating a democracy for every people and the respect of religious groups. Mark, you forgot to mention that the Jews lived continuously in that land that the Arabs claim. Did you ever hear of a book called the in western terms the Bible. Read it. Many cultures and people and empire rwere aquainted with the Jews in Israel. When Arabs conquered the land of Israel for their pursuit to spread Islam, they did not maintain a hold on it long because the Turks came in and then the British. Arabs should feel priviledge because many Arabs travel to that land for work because Jews being industrialist created opportunities for labor when many of the Jewish brothers returned to their homeland when they thought it was safe to join their brothers that lived continuously in the land. Very simple history. History 101. How can one extort Jewish history.History, archeaology, people group, culture can testify.

Good article. You left one thing out. It is not about peace with the Jews. They can care less. It is about Arab pride and humiliation on the battle field, or the accomplishments of the Jewish state in 60 years. They can't have what the Jews have. Do you think these Arab nation really care about Arab villages in Judea and Samaria. Arab nations and other do not care about the truth of history. When there was an opportunity for peace, Arab nations fumbled the ball. Good example, Araft turn down the offer of a state with Barak. As a Jew, what can you do?

Let's pick one argument of yours, for the sake of brevity. You say, Judea and Samaria - copre Jewish lands, in our opinion - are "occupied." And who do they "rightefully" belong to, if the bunch of local and migrant Arabs are not a nation by any account and have never had a state of their own?

Reading this thing, ironically, I found a lot of similarities with Hitler's Mein Kampf, except that instead of the lazy but rich Jewish bankers, now the ridiculous accusation is against the lazy but rich from oil Arabs, plotting for Israel's destruction. As the infamous book, your arguments are based upon speculation, and you make no reference to any hard fact.

First, you take the focus away from the Palestinian problem which is at the root of all the trouble in this region. You fail to consider the fact that the West Bank and Gaza are occupied territories since 1967, and they are being illegally settled, with appropriation of the most fertile lands and strategic points (hilltops). The fact that the West Bank has a 4000 year old name that links this region to the Jewish people has no relevance at all, much like the fact that Kosovo was the heartland of the Serbs had no relevance when it seceded. The reality is that hundreds of thousands of Arabs live on the lands you call Judea and Samaria, descendants of the people that fought the Crusading armies a thousand years ago, and they will not allow to be ethnically cleansed or starved to death, no one should. Like it or not, but Arabs have lived there for thousands of year, and a 4000 year old book does not legalize the murder and displacement of a whole people, nor the denial of their sovereignty. The Israelis should feel priviledged for what they already have, as much of their homes have been built on destroyed Arab homes, therefore they should be the ones compromising for peace, not the other way around.
