I doubt you will find them in the Israeli universities, because these people are full of pompous pride of themselves, but you will find them in the army. They risk their lives to save wounded friends; They treat the dying under fire; They jump on grenades to save their comrades, like real heroes. These people are betrayed by a leadership that turns all their sacrifices and victories hollow - by giving the enemy what the best citizens have rightfully won with their blood. Liviu Librescu. A few months ago, a nut-case convert to Islam, at Virginia Tech started going from class room to class room, systematically executing frozen, cowardly students. Professor Librescu, a man in his seventies, who had survived the Nazis and the Stalinists, heard the madness coming down the hall to his class. The door could not be locked, so he blocked it with his body as he ordered his students to jump out the second story windows. The gunman shot him through the door, but not before his students had escaped. THAT is not a martyr, THAT is a Hero. Suicide is prohibited. We do not own our bodies or our lives. To kill one's self is to spit in the face of God. This is particurlarly distressing to read after "Holocaust is receding". You kill your enemies, not yourself. If you think "suicide" equals martyrdom, nothing was learned from the Holocaust. The European Jews should have fought like the Heros of Warsaw. Any Jew that commits suicide now is an apostate and a traitor. There are plenty of people that are willing to kill you if you want to die. Die as warriors. To choose death at Masada rather than become slaves of Rome at the end of a lost war is one thing. But to kill one's self because one is too cowardly to attack an illegitimate government is the worst example of all the stereotypes attributed to the Jew for hundreds of years.
