This rhetoric is not rare, not first and certainly not the last. Adolph Hitler had goals and he obviously wasn't picky about the tools and means, Stalin said death of one man is a tragedy, death of million is a number (showing his personal attitude regarding TOOLS and MEANS). Probably they thought god enlightened them so that they have wisdom and rationality in reaching their goals. But before you continue to think like that think about your mother, your sister, your kid or friends and try to imagine some horrible thing happening to them (but try to imagine) and try to justify it by saying goals are important, it rational to have my family killed because it will give some advantage in mission to realize "GREAT" national goals. You are our only true ally in this war on terrorism. I've said before and I'll say again war on isms is a waste of time and lives. Only total war is winnable. Every poll I can find shows that 80+% of MEers frankly hate the US and our western ways. We can't win a war fighting insurgents who swim in a sea like that.
