Regretfully, I don’t see among the commentaries some facts that seem to me most important.
1. R. Meir Kahane obm have been talking and writing about the problems discussed here for many years. 2.As of this writing, the boycott of his name, his followers and the Jewish Idea he had been promoting till his last minute in this world, is stronger than ever. 3. The most ignorant sector of population, both in Israel and in the Diaspora, is the “Russian” sector (as a professional translator/interpreter&journalist I can provide ample proofs of that), mainly due to their being “Russian only”-speakers and lack of money and efforts to inform them in their first language.

You are right, and Hitler was saying that he is not opposed to Judaism, he was opposed to the foreign “race”. According to him, Jews, being foreign nation, Jews could not be a part of German nation.
If German Jews realized what was coming to them early enough, perhaps they could get the support for emigrating to Israel.

Gathering support for Israel would be either way, but I agree with you Ray.
Defining Jews as a religion didn’t work in the past, doesn’t work now, and even doesn’t form a proper English sentence.
It is evasive action, which meant to buy Jews some peace from persecutions. It failed.
Rather than support, Jews should gather respect. Humans respect those who they fear.

The Palestinians are a myth because there is no “Palestinian” nation. There is an Arab people reaching throughout the fertile crescent and into Eretz Yisrael. Note that Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Iraq were created as “nations” after the Treaty of Versailles, as the “Jewish State” was also propounded as part of Wilsonian democracy to give all ethnic groups their own state.
In the US we are American Jews, with the adjective American simply modifying the basic core identity as Jews – like Russian Jews, Sephardic Jews, etc.

We are Jews above all else, no matter where we happen to be born or live.
