But the setting now has becoming quite grave and no one seems to want to care and stand up and do what's right and remember what the prophets warned us to do if we are there in the later days, call a fast, repent turn back to our Father and do what He says, everyone looks to a man to figure out how to fix the problems and no human can. There will be no Peace ever not by the hands of mankind anyways mankind does not know Peace and how to fix anything. Mankind only knows war. It's very scary just sitting by feeling helpless watching Israel make foolish mistakes one after another, they are like sitting ducks unwittingly not understanding the full extent of what is about to befall on them. Hammas is the South who will lose, but the North will sneak up behind them, once the Captial is gone it's going to be to late for all of us on the planet. Israel you are the Key you are the only ones who can stop what is about to come. Fix it by getting on your knees and turning back to our Father in a broken spirit. He says he will stop the wrath if only you turn. Think about what is at stake here...?! The time is now. Later is too late! You then follow this question up with 5-6 sentences regarding Jewish/Arab relations as being both "friendly" and free of "occupational restrictions". However, you fail to realize that neither of these things would exist if Israel was to fail. Your supposed 1/3 of the remaining Jews would face a nation of hate, and as well be confined to the restrictions of whatever Arab governing factor would exist. Next, you make a good point by addressing the fact that many American Jews are facing assimilation into American culture. You make a good point by stating that Israel provides Jews with a different type of Jewish identity. Yet, you make no correlation between the idea that many of the Americans, who you consider assimilated, find identity through the existence of Israel, regardless of their passport citizenship. Beyond this, you fail to recognize the most important reason for the existence of Israel...its capability to serve as a haven for those who wish for the type of Jewish identity you spoke of… the type that doesn't necessarily require "old-school" religion, but a Jewish identity none the less. You said that it was this identity that would prevent Jews who lived in Israel from assimilating in this post-Israel world you speak of. Yet, I argue, that it is the existence of Israel that is perhaps keeping some of the Diaspora Jews from assimilating today. Thus, Israel serves a purpose to Jews worldwide. With an exception- we could promote Judaism to groups like African-Americans, Chinese-Americans, Native Americans, Japanese-Americans ie. visible minorities who are officially Christian, but who frankly speaking have been considered irrelevant by the vast majority of Americans of European Christian heritage. Christianity was pushed on them, and since then they have been still treated as irrelevant and ignored in terms of being fellow (Christian) co-religionists. This is basically a form of racism. Every so often you can read articles in the Jewish press about a Chinese American or an African-American who converts to Judaism. I think the main point is to promote Judaism in the 3rd world. That is our very best hope.
