It ended up with concentration camps of unspeakable brutality where tens of millions people perished in the name of brilliant future. Degree of exploitation of "work resource" there was unheard-of even in Dickensian times, in English coal mines. Apparently the state must calculate investment of limited resources and try to get best bang for the buck. However, charities and private resources OF COURSE are to help those the state's hand cannot reach. There is one more, and very dark side to it... By abandoning poor and incapable to their fate, the message will be sent to the young - be a predator, rip the meat now since there will be nobody around you when you're old and sick. That will inevitably lead to dehumanization of society. [MODERATED]

Additionally it is important that we update our definition of a a "Jew". The old definition based on religion is quickly becoming obsolete, if we keep insisting on it, Jewish people and culture will disappear. Additionally we need to make the life in Israel more attractive especially for the young energetic people. Right now, America is offering more opportunities. This has nothing to do with religion, a lot to do with money, business, and education opportunities. Good charity.

I come across Alot of Israeli's here in USA that do not want to go back to Israel and are so secular that it breaks my heart. There usually very successful merchants.
