I say that all who kill in suicide bombings, all who kill innocents are cowards. Anyone who thinks that God condones killing is not only insane but just plain stupid. It would be funny if it weren't so very sad.

Well, interesting post. I have, as always, some ideas to share.
Ovadiah limits his vision to economic parameters. Why a entrepreneur jew will stay here if in the USA can make a fortune? Good point, but there is some more than this. When Moshe leads the people out of Egypt, they complain about the good food they ate back there. We shall remember Egypt was not just the greatest potency of the time, but one of the most fertile places on Earth. The comparison sounds familiar? Moshe offered them a more pure live, without the physical and mental slavery. Lot of people though just about the food.
As always, no doubt we are in front of the same people. Not everyone can perceive the powerful differences between kind of lives then and now.
Moshe was leading them to purity, but their minds were with the food.
How much time you think the American Jewry will be at easy? Please notice a curious effect.
The further you go from Eretz Israel, the more the true diminishes. Jews living in the Israel zone for centuries are more observant, as 4 o 5 USA generations use a little Santa claus hat as yarmulke for Chrismas/Hannuka.
Please see it for yourself. I'm not inventing nothing.
Then, meanwhile jewish leaders talk about the "jews"of USA, I think about those poor people. They're clueless about true Israel is.
So you need a lotof guts to decide what to do in your life. It's money or knowledge? What about being ourselves? What about the dreams of thousands of our forefathers? Are we able to hold them and crystallize them or are we another generation destined to be erased of history?
I cannot remember who was the one who said you cannot have 2 masters: for him was whether G-d or money...
About the Israel-Judea division: It is not casual that the zone nearer to the sea received more foreign influence. Besides, were the farthest places from Jerusalem the origin of the idolatry.Interesting analogy with today situation. The Tel Aviv area is the more contamined with idolatry.
Josephus define us as a land-working people. Not a coastal sun-bathing one.
The issue is very long. I don't know if every forist is interested...
