Bush betrayed the American soldiers killed in Vietnam by going to Hanoi as if nothing ever happened between the two countries. If circumstances have changed, and communism is no longer the threat, say so. A brutal war cannot be brushed aside as a brotherly misunderstanding.
During WWI, the Russian tsar, the German kaiser, and the British king - second cousins - corresponded politely while their subjects were slaughtered. Modern “democratic” rulers have assimilated that attitude.
